Commercial Lines Insurance Broker
Scott began his career in the insurance industry 20 years ago and has been part of the Acumen team for three years. Before finding a career in insurance, Scott worked for Bell Canada as a service tech, climbing poles in Hamilton and repairing phone lines.
He graduated from Laurentian University (1994-1998) with a Bachelor of Commerce and went on to obtain both his RIBO and LLQP licences.
Scott is passionate about helping clients navigate large and small insurance solutions and specializes in commercial insurance, life insurance and living benefits and segregated funds.
He loves having the ability to connect with new people through his occupation.
A fun fact about me:
I played hockey for most of my life growing up and now enjoy coaching my daughter and her team.
The last goal I achieved:
Many of my goals lately are helping my kids achieve their goals and seeing their happy faces when they do.
My idea of a perfect day:
Sitting on the dock at my cottage with my wife while its sunny and hot, and watching my kids play in the lake.
My favourite thing to do in Hamilton or Mississauga (depending on office location):
Exploring new and different restaurants and foods.
A skill or talent that I would most like to learn:
Becoming a pilot or flying a plane.
If I could start a charity, it would be for:
Kids that cannot afford to play hockey/sports.
The biggest adventure that I’ve been on:
Travelling through Europe with two best friends in the early 2000s; Raising a family with my wife 2007-current.

A common misconception about my job:
That it is a desk job. While most of my work is on a computer, lots of it takes place out and about networking.
